There are many special words associated with Christmas. Here, I explain and demystify some of these technical terms. Advent - make a hole in the church wall to let some air in. Crib Service - a service of divine worship shamelessly copied from a neighbouring parish. Christingle - the sensation of the hairs going up on the back of your neck at the thought of all the Christmas presents you are going to receive. Bauble - a particularly good looking female wild pig. Magi - three American Armed Forces personnel who arrive five months too late for the nativity. Ether - another Christian festival that many consider to be more important than Cwithmath. Parish - the destination of St.Andrew's PCC's Christmas booze cruise. Carol - the lady who makes the mince pies. Caro - the correct spelling of 'Carol' during the Christmas season.
